Raccolta delle Stampe Achille Bertarelli
The Raccolta delle Stampe Achille Bertarelli was born in 1927 with the aim of enhancing the collection of circa 300,000 prints that Achille Bertarelli (1863-1938) donated to the City of Milan in 1925. Following his documentary passion and without being influenced by aesthetic canons, Achille Bertarelli gathered the most various kinds of prints: maps, posters, ex-libris, business cards, fashion plates, postcards etc. The Raccolta owns today circa one million of prints, from the early fifteenth century until these days, organised according to iconographical criteria. The specialised library owns 700 periodicals, 3,500 ancient illustrated books and circa 25,000 books concerning printmaking. Noteworthy is the Fondo Levi Pisetzky, with 1,300 publications on the history of costume.
