Museo Civico delle Cappuccine, Gabinetto delle Stampe
The Gabinetto delle stampe of Bagnacavallo was created in 1990 with the aim of preserving and exhibiting the prints collection of the Parmense Emilio Ferroni. To date, it is an important centre of research at a national level. The Fondo Stampe Antiche is made up of more than 1,000 sheets among which works of masters like Albrecht Dürer, Stefano della Bella, William Hogarth, Jean George Willie and Charles Clément Bervic. The Fondo Stampe Contemporanee, more relevant, is made up of more than 13.000 sheets. It is one of the most important Italian collections of twentieth-century and contemporary engravings. The Gabinetto also hosts a chalcographic laboratory. Starting from 2015, the museum organises the Biennale di Incisione Giuseppe Maestri, an artistic manifestation of national relevance. The main objective of the Biennale is that of contributing to the enhancement and dissemination of the graphic language of printmaking and of stimulating the realisation of new works.
